I’ve been saved since the age of twelve, when I gave a profession of faith in Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior, before the congregation of the First Baptist Church in my hometown. In that instant, I was indwelt by the Holy Spirit as my guide and helper. You need to understand that the Holy Spirit will never leave you once he resides within you. The presence of the Holy Spirit is God’s guarantee that you belong to him; that you’re a part of God’s family. Your place in heaven is guaranteed. When you die saved unto eternal life, it’s the Holy Spirit that takes your eternal spirit, the real you, back to heaven to be in the presence of Jesus forevermore. When the saints receive their glorified bodies in the air, during the rapture, the Holy Spirit will indwell those bodies too. The Holy Spirit will remain within every saint during the entire one-thousand-year millennial reign of Jesus Christ on earth and then in heaven for all eternity. Every person is born into sin because of the fall of Adam in the Garden of Eden. Adam’s sin becomes our sin, and we’re all headed to hell unless we accept God’s saving grace through faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. God sent his son to save us so do it. Once you die it’s too late to be saved. You must choose to serve God before you die or you’ll wind up in hell for all eternity. Don’t wait. Today is the day of your salvation!
John 17:17 – (Jesus) – The Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for he dwells within you and will be with you.
John 14:23 – (Jesus) – If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love Him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.
There’s only one true God, and that is Jehovah, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. God exists in three distinct persons, all of whom are equally God. Each has a different function, but all have the same divine essence. We call this the trinity. When I say I’m indwelt by the Holy Spirit, I could just as easily say I’m indwelt by Jesus the Son or God the Father. All three statements would be technically correct. I know this is a hard teaching, especially for nonbelievers. But just accept it as fact for now and it will become clear eventually. In the Scriptures, it says that the trinity will make their home within the believer. Remember the Bible is the inerrant word of God and God cannot lie. Let’s start our journey with these accepted truths. God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit are all equally God. Once a person accepts Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior by faith, they are indwelt by the Holy Spirit and saved unto eternal life in heaven. God made us all, and he has given each of us the same small amount of faith it takes to be saved. All we have to do is find God, believe what he says, and profess it to him in prayer. It really is that easy; so easy in fact that some can’t believe it.
